My Little Teacher

Christian has decided the past couple of days that he doesn't need a nap. Yay. As you can imagine, this makes for a VERY long day, when some days just seem so long already. The following quote was a good reminder as I sat reading last night.

"We live in the midst of holy teachers. Sometimes they spit up on themselves or on us. Sometimes they throw tantrums. Sometimes they cuddle us and kiss us and love us. In the good and the bad they mold our hearts, shape our souls, and invite us to experience God in newer and deeper ways. Although we may shed many tears along this sacred journey of parenting, numerous blessings await us around every bend in the road."

Oh, my. I was thinking he may enjoy a little quiet time in his room but he may not be very quiet if he is not happy being there. In all his pictures, he looks like a very happy baby.

Being a parent is a humbling and refining journey, for sure! I'm sure he'll be back to his naps soon - he's still a little guy who needs his beauty rest :-)
