"Chish-chin, are you?"

Christian and Lucas are truly buddies. This past week they even started sleeping together in Lucas' queen bed. We had hoped that they would eventually share a room in our next house (probably with twin beds or a bunk bed) but they naturally sped up the process. We will see if it sticks, but it has been nice. They generally go to bed easier and faster since they have each other to ease fear of the dark, etc.

Before they were sharing a room, Lucas would wake up in the morning and go directly to Christian's room downstairs (we currently have a tri-level with 3 bedrooms upstairs and a 4th downstairs) and say, ""Chish-chin, are you?" (Christian, where are you?) Love how Lucas is starting to put sentences together.

Here is Lucas sitting on Christian's lap. He was happy despite the look on his face.

Baby Blues and Sweet Grins

We were pretty confident that Noah was going to have blue eyes. :o) Whether or not he will have blonde hair is still up for debate. I would guess the odds are in his favor.

Pics from The Past: September 26, 2012

So I was going through my email (yes I have 805 emails to delete) and I came across this old photo from September 2012. Lucas was 9 months old and Christian was 3. Not the best quality, but this was about when the boys started to play together, and now they are best buddies. Plus, I so miss Christian's crazy South Carolina curls.

Sledding Adventure & Birthdays

This past weekend we went down to Denver to celebrate both my dad's birthday and Steve's brother, Will's birthday. On Saturday we went to Evergreen Lake and went sledding on the nearby hills. It was Christian and Lucas' first experience sledding as there's not very  much snow in South Carolina. :o) Christian loved sledding and was very brave going down by himself, even after a few crashes. Lucas on the other hand was not so much of a fan (but he was also getting over a cold.) I have such fond memories of sledding, so it was so fun getting a chance to go with our kiddos. After sledding we went to "Beau Jo's" pizza- Yum Yum! On Saturday evening my parents got babysitters for the 5 oldest children, and the adults went to the Brio. On Sunday we went to Castle Rock and celebrated Will's birthday with family and yet again pizza (Boulevard Pizza this time!) We are so thankful to be able to celebrate everybody's birthdays now that we are back in Colorado!

Noah is 3 Months

Little N is ALREADY 3 months old! He is becoming a busy little boy with lots of squirming, kicking, flapping his arms, and fidgeting with his hands. He is starting to reach and attempts to grasp toys on his bouncy seat (all while making cute little sounds.) Noah is doing a great job holding his head up as well. He is a smiley little guy, loves studying faces, and follows us with his eyes. He is also doing more "talking," cooing, and even some giggling. Noah is a growing little guy, now wearing size 2 diapers, and 3 and some 3-6 month clothing. He has been regularly sleeping through night since turning 2 months old (with the exception of our visits at Christmas.) So blessed by another healthy boy!

Compare: Christian at 12 weeks and 3 months
Lucas at 12 weeks and 3 months

Year in Review: 2013

I know it's a little past the New Year, but I wanted to post some highlights from 2013:
2013 was a very busy year indeed! Lots of blessings, some hardships, but overall a wonderful year! Can't wait to see what 2014 holds for us.

Christmas #3

Our 3rd and final Christmas (1 and 2 here) was at Steve's parent's house the Sunday after Christmas Day, as it was the earliest that everybody to get together. We enjoyed opening Christmas gifts including Secret Santa presents, stockings, and even a white elephant gift exchange! Of course, we also enjoyed delicious food throughout the day. Such a special time relaxing and celebrating with the family!

Grandma made each grandchild their own blanket!

Lucas' 2nd Birthday Celebrations!

Lucas had two little birthday celebrations for his 2nd Birthday. The first was on Lucas' actual birthday with my side of the family. We went out for pizza and I attempted to make a dump truck cake since Lucas is into cars and trucks...it was a little interesting. :o) The next day we celebrated both Lucas and Grandpa R's birthday (his is on December 28th) in Castle Rock with Steve's family. We had pizza (we like pizza a lot) and cute snowman cupcakes. Lucas did an awesome job singing "Happy birthday" with us and blowing out his candles. Whereas before he was a little indifferent about opening presents, he seems to have gotten the hang of it after the two previous Christmas events (see 1 and 2.) (Side note: We are finding that it is difficult trying to celebrate Lucas' birthday the day right after Christmas when we are already a bit tired from Christmas festivities. We are even thinking that when Lucas is older we might do a half birthday celebration in June or July, but we will see. Even postponing a party until later in January might be nice.)

Nana made french toast and "toffee" (coffee, but it was really hot cocoa) for Lucas' birthday breakfast.
