Lucas is Two

On December 26th our almost-Christmas-baby turned TWO! Where does the time go? In the midst of life and busyness, I am always amazed when we reach these milestones and birthdays. Here is what Lucas is up to these days as a big 2 year old!
  • Lucas is a fun and adventurous little guy (but not always a good listener- I think that may just come with this stage/age,) always trying to keep up with Big Brother. He loves to explore outside!
  • Lucas loves to dance! Spinning in circles or shaking his head as soon as he hears music. He also loves to sing.
  • His vocabulary is expanding more and more every day and it's so fun to hear him talking...and repeating! What a difference it makes in being able to understand and meet his "needs." Although we understand most of what Lucas says, Christian is sometimes our translator.
  • Lucas continues to LOVE to eat, and definitely enjoys his snacks! His favorite foods include sweets (just keeping it real here,) cereal, hot dogs, bananas, oranges, string cheese, yogurt, and crackers. He often eats the most and is the last one eating.
  • Lucas and "Chee-nin" (Christian) are buddies and often times disappear in the house to go play. (Not gonna lie- Mommy enjoys the short break assuming no one is crying.) Lucas also loves his little brother "No-nah" and greets him often with "hi or hey baby" while giving him kisses.
  • Lucas is my little buddy during nursing times and enjoys sitting right next to me on the couch with his 2 beloved blankets (made by Nana and Aunt Brittany) and his little husky "doggie."
  • Lucas is a busy boy, and enjoys plugging things (appropriate things) in outlets, lights, switches, buttons, fans, etc.
  • His favorite toys include: trucks and cars, Legos, blocks, and Christian's gears
  • At Lucas' 2 year checkup he weighed 27 lbs putting him in the 36th percentile, and was 34.75 inches tall putting him in the 56th percentile for toddler boys his age.
It is so fun watching this little dude change and grow and become his own little person. I can only imagine the fun and adventure that the next year will hold. Happy Birthday Lucas Jude!

Helping himself to a little snack. Lucas can open doors now, so when he wakes up in the morning he immediately goes to Christian's room, where they play and oftentimes get into a little mischief before Mommy and Daddy wake.

Lucas often sports an impish grin.

And it begins....

Lucas LOVES his big bro, "Chee-nin."

And his little bro, "No-nah" too.

Just having a snack with my squirrel friend.

Christmas #2

On the Saturday evening after celebrating Christmas at our house, we drove down to my parent's for our 2nd Christmas celebration. :o) My mom made a yummy turkey dinner on Sunday and it was a great opportunity for all the cousins to see each other and play together. On Christmas Eve we had Chinese food before a nice Christmas Eve service at my brother and sister-in-law's church. It was extra special because my grandparents came and celebrated with us. Christmas Day was wonderful with great food, family, and joy. It is so special seeing the excitement of Christmas festivities through our children's eyes! The day was a little crazy as to be expected when there are 5 children running around, ages 5 and under. Next year it will be 6! But we all enjoyed one another's company and it was a special day celebrating the birth of our Savior!

Noah's 2 (Almost 3) Month Checkup

At Noah's "2 month" well baby checkup today, he weighed 12 lbs, 4 oz putting him in the 35th percentile and was 23.75 inches long putting him in the 50th percentile for baby boys his age. He is healthy and growing oh-so-fast! Can't get enough of these sweet baby grins and coos. :o)

Christmas #1

What a busy week we have had! We drove south to spend Christmas with both our families for a week, AND celebrated Lucas' and Steve's dad's birthdays. So, I think I will break up these posts instead of having one huge blog post with photo overload. :o)

On the Saturday before driving down to the south Denver area, we had our own little Christmas at home in Fort Collins, complete with a yummy breakfast, stockings, Christmas music, and even snow! Under the Christmas tree, the big boys each received 3 gifts (a book, a piece of clothing, and a toy) and then a gift to share (Disney's "Planes" DVD.) Gifts for Noah were a little more sparse thanks to having 2 big brothers and lots of hand-me-downs. :o)
