I knew when I pulled out our Bumbo seat for Lucas that it wouldn't be long until Christian requested one also. Lucky for him, we have two! How did we end up with two Bumbo's you ask? I was unable to pack everything in the midst of our shuffle from California to Colorado and eventually South Carolina in the winter of 2009-2010. A lot of baby gear was packed up and shipped directly from California to South Carolina including what I didn't realize would become the beloved Bumbo chair and the bouncy seat that Lucas is enjoying so much now. Christian was 3 months at the time of our move and it was so hard to decide what to bring knowing that we wouldn't see our stuff for another 3 months. Anyway...I purchased another Bumbo in Colorado during our time of transition, and there you have it- two Bumbos. :) Now didn't that just work out perfectly:

Lucas is 4 Months
I can't believe another month has gone by. Lucas continues to be such a joy and wonderful addition to our family of four.
- He is just a happy little guy, offering lots of smiles, and coos for anyone that gives him attention. He especially loves watching and smiling at big brother, who in turn offers Lucas lots of kisses.
- For the most part Lucas is sleeping through the night. There will be an occasional night or two when he wakes once in the night, but overall he is sleeping through- amen to that! I think the sleeping may be attributed to the fact that L bug is a BIG thumb sucker (so much so that he has gotten a blister.) From day one Lucas never cared for the pacifier (Christian wasn't a big fan for long either) but loves his thumb. I am not thrilled about breaking this habit later down the road, but I am enjoying that he can easily calm himself whenever necessary, and that I can lay him down while he is still awake.
- Lucas is now in size 2 diapers and wears 3-6 month clothing.
- He weighs 13 pounds 3 ounces putting him in the 10th percentile for weight and is 25 inches long putting him in the 38th percentile for height. (He is smaller and longer than Christian was at 4 months.)
- Little man is also drooling a lot these days because his first tooth is already beginning to emerge on the bottom left! Hard to believe, it just seems so early!
- Lucas is grasping and reaching for toys (sucking on them of course) and shows much interest in his little world.

Lucas' First Zoo Visit
On Saturday we took advantage of the pleasantly comfortable Spring weather and went to the zoo! (It has been strangely cold the past couple of days- I think it is supposed to heat up again soon.) I can't remember the last time we went to the zoo (maybe in the Fall?) so it was nice to use our season passes and enjoy some outdoor family time. This was Lucas' first visit to the zoo, so Christian enjoyed showing him some of his favorites like the giraffes, fish, alligators, "hoo-hoos" (monkeys,) and "roars" (lions.) I think Luke enjoyed himself :o)

Sunday Hike: Poinsett State Park
On Sunday we went to Poinsett State Park (about 30 minutes from our house.) We definitely need to take more advantage of these beautiful lush parks in South Carolina while we are here. (In case you were wondering, poor Christian soaked his shorts before we arrived at the park. Also, Steve's Donald Duck shirt- Christian has been adamant about picking out Steve's shirts in addition to his own clothing.) So fun to just walk and explore God's beautiful Creation as a family.

More Visitors! Grandpa and Grandma's SC Visit
A couple of days after Aunt Kristi's visit, Grandpa and Grandma R. came to visit us. Our visit with them was pretty low-key as well. We enjoyed some sites around Sumter, attempted to go strawberry picking (but the evenings had been too cold for berries,) went to Florence to order my bridesmaid dress for Will and Brittany's Vegas wedding in July, and tried a new restaurant here in town called the Palmetto Oyster House (you have to understand what a big deal it is to have a new restaurant choice.) Grandpa also helped with some outdoor repairs and helped Steve plant three pear trees in the backyard. Best of all, they watched the boys so that Steve and I could have a date night- so nice to have uninterrupted adult conversation! Another very nice visit...we definitely wish we had visitors more often, so we were certainly spoiled to have visitors two weeks in a row!
