Another month has gone by, and Lucas is now 13 months old! We still have yet to go to the doctor for Lucas' 12 month well-baby check up (the appointment was canceled and rescheduled) but we spent last Wednesday afternoon at the pediatrician anyway. After a couple of days with a fever, it finally got as high as 103.6! After a series of tests...no flu, no RSV, no ear infection...Lucas had to get a chest x-Ray and blood work done to confirm that he had pneumonia. Poor little guy, he was just miserable but is now on the mend and feeling 100% again. He weighed 19 pounds 10 ounces at the time.
Lucas now says Dadda, Momma, "Gh-ee" or "Mow" (Kitty), "Nigh-Nigh" (Night Night), and unidentifiable words. He is still our awesome little eater. He also takes no nonsense from Big Brother and squeals when Christian comes even close to taking something away from him. He has begun to cruise a little around furniture but is not yet walking. Still working on more teeth, I believe he will cut his 5th and possibly 6th in this next month. (Again, it doesn't stop this little guy from eating.)

Summer Move!
Time for a much belated family update! This past (late) Summer we learned that Steve was accepted to become a professor at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs! Our prayers (and our parents') were answered...truly a blessing that we will be moving back to Colorado where we will be closer to family and friends. We will be moving to Colorado in December 2014, but first the unknown. Steve is currently applying to three Master's programs (one in Colorado!) where he will receive a degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology (he will be teaching Behavioral Sciences at the Academy.) So as of now we know we will be moving from Sumter, South Carolina sometime this Summer, but we do not know where. Regardless, we are super excited for new adventures in our next location, and then onward to Colorado Springs!

Future Artist
Christian is our little artist in the family. (Well, maybe Lucas will be too.) Christian loves all things drawing and painting. So thankful that Christian and I can share this favorite pastime...after all, there is only so much Lego building that Mommy can handle. :o)
Thanks Uncle Ryan and Aunt Kim for the super cool art easel and Miss Leigh for the etch-a-sketch. Both perfect Christmas gifts!

Lucas' First Birthday Party
Even after all the excitement and busyness of Christmas and Christmas Eve, we decided to throw a fun, little Snowman themed Birthday party for Lucas. We had our immediate families over for pizza, salad, fruit, and these cute (but quite time-consuming) snowmen cupcakes. The evening was short and simple, but we are so thankful that we were able to celebrate Lucas with most of our family present.
