Lucas is 28 Months

I had intended to do a 27 month blog post for Lucas, but have gotten behind, and now he is 28 months! It's so strange to think that Lucas was born when Christian was 27 months, but Lucas has done an awesome job transitioning to big brotherhood at 21 months! I am so thankful for the closeness in age of these boys, and I love the fact that they will be best buddies. Here's what Lucas is up to at 28 Months:

  • Lucas loves to eat, we joke that he's a "hobbit" with his multiple meals during the day. He loves applesauce, yogurt, peanut butter and jelly, bananas, and candy. ;o)
  • Lucas is a great little talker. His vocabulary has expanded and he is putting sentences together. He actually says some words clearer than Christian.
  • Lucas loves to play with his big buddy "Sis-sian" (Christian.) They often like to play Legos together, and enjoy playing outside...exploring, collecting sticks, and making mud.
  • Lucas is also beginning to interact more with "Nomah" (Noah) these days. He likes to give him kisses, and the occasional toy.
  • He loves to "go." Enough said.
  • Lucas really has a fascination with trucks right now. Everything is "b-suc-kuk" (translated: "big trash truck.")
  • Of course, Lucas LOVES his stuffed doggie! I was trying to take photos of him recently, and Lucas wanted me to take pictures of his dog...who is now permanently gray all over. He is loved indeed!
We love watching Lucas learn and grow. He is such a sweet boy, and we are honored to be his parents. :o)

Christian is 4 1/2

Our sweet boy turned 4 1/2 on March 17th (I know I am a little behind.) :o) Sometimes I look at him and wonder where the past 2 years have gone (2 especially- maybe because that is when Lucas was born) --- when did he become so tall? So silly? So smart? Christian is really a great kid.
  • Christian is so sweet to his younger brothers and is very affectionate. He looks out for them and makes sure their needs are met. (Sometimes translating Lucas-lingo.)
  • Christian is really enjoying preschool 2 mornings a week. He loves to learn! He has always been great at drawing, etc, but now is a master scissor-cutter. :o) He also enjoys writing his letters.
  • His favorite outdoor activities include riding his Strider bike, collecting rocks, sticks, and pine cones, making mud, and playing ball.
  • His favorite indoor activities include writing, Legos (HUGE right now,) Nerf guns, etc.
  • His current favorite shows are Scooby Doo, The Incredibles, and Frozen which Nana and Papa introduced him to a month ago. (We all have the songs nearly memorized by now.)
  • Christian's favorite foods include sandwiches (turkey and cheese or peanut butter and jelly,) bananas, apples, yogurt, and....his drink (shocker I know!)
  • Christian loves visiting our families in South Denver...it's so nice only being 1 1/2+ hours away. He likes it when I count the number of days until our next visit on my fingers.
  • Christian has been asking many questions about God, Jesus, and faith. I love when the conversations come up naturally in our normal, everyday activities. He is very curious, and I love how he is forming his own faith.

We love eating lunch outdoors!

"Helping" frost Valentine cupcakes.

Sleeping with Lucas (They practically share a room now.)

Noah is 6 Months

Half a year already! Two weeks before turning 6 months old, Noah cut his first tooth on the bottom left and his second tooth (on the bottom right) a week later! Understandably he had been a little grouchy, which is definitely abnormal for our happy and smiley baby boy. He is such a content baby, and we are thankful that he is so easygoing! With the addition of teeth, we decided it was finally time to start some solid food. So far he has only been munching on rice rusks, teething biscuits, brown rice cereal, bananas, and applesauce. He definitely seems to enjoy feeding himself versus the mushy texture of spoon-fed food. Time will tell what his favorite is, but we are taking solid foods slowly. Noah loves his big brothers and enjoys watching them (becoming more and more distracted during nursing time.) He especially loves Christian, since C interacts with him a bit more right now. Noah loves toys, reaching, grasping, and touching anything near him. He is starting to get around on the floor a bit more, lifting up on his arms and building strength for future crawling (yikes- not sure if I am quite ready for him to be mobile.) He also gives the best little hugs! Noah continues to be a good little sleeper, taking two naps, and generally sleeping through the night. He is wearing a few remaining 3-6 month, but mostly 6 month clothes. At Noah's well-baby check up this past Monday he weighed 15 lbs 4 oz putting him in the 10th percentile, and was 26.5 inches long putting him in the 52nd percentile for baby boys his age. Just a growing boy!

Daddy and His Boys

February:

I really love all these boys! It is a bit of a challenge trying to get a good photo though- poor Lucas always seems to blink. ;)
